Australian South Sea Pearls are one type of saltwater pearls produced by Pinctada maxima or silver-lipped pearl oyster shells and treasured for having the thickest nacre of all (2mm to 6mm vs. 0.35mm to 0.7mm of Akoya pearls).

Australia is the only country in the world that uses wild oyster stocks, always ensuring sustainability.

The pearls, like Tahitian, are “bead nucleated”, which means that its nucleus is perfectly round, which provides the oyster with a sort of guide or template that allows the creation of perfectly round pearls. Apart from their characteristic shape, these pearls are distinguished by their fineness and their higher prices, due to the conditions required for its cultivation.

In Austral Stones we have a beautiful range of 18k Gold (both Yellow Gold and White Gold), diamonds and South Sea Pearl Pendants and South Sea Pearl Earrings, both in white and yellow/golden tones.
